Southern District Enrichment Event God’s Green Earth: Congregations Keeping Creation Together Saturday, February 27, 2010 First United Methodist Church, Roseburg
After a one-year hiatus, the annual Southern District Enrichment Event is back. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2010, at First United Methodist Church in Roseburg. Our theme is “God’s Green Earth: Congregations Keeping Creation Together.”
Our keynote speaker will be the Rev. John Pitney, associate pastor at First United Methodist Church in Eugene and a nationally known speaker on the interaction between faith and sustainable living. Through our time together, we will explore how we are called to live in a way that cares for God’s creation and one another and give you some practical ideas you can take home to implement in your congregation.
There will be activities for all ages. For preschool and elementary age children we will offer an outing to Wildlife Safari where they will participate in a “zoo school” with a focus on earth day activities. A complete list of workshops for adults will be coming next month.
The day begins with registration at 9:30 a.m. followed by our Opening Presentation at 10 a.m. We will conclude by 3:30 p.m. Register by February 12 and receive a reduced rate: $10 per person or $25 per family. After February 12 the fee will be $12 per person or $30 per family. We hope to see you there.
